1. Get lost
Take a few turns off the main road and spend a day getting completely lost in the winding streets. The best part of Venice is just marveling at the architecture of the city.
2. Cruise the canals
Whether you take a gondola ride or just take a Vaporetto definitely experience getting around Venice by water.
3. Visit Colorful Burano
Get on the Vaporetto first thing in the morning and visit Burano’s gorgeous colored houses. It’s a picture perfect photo opportunity.
4. Get a view from above
Pay the extra Euro and climb up to the roof of the Basilica San Marco to get an amazing view over St. Marks Square. For an even better view over the entire city take the elevator up to the top of St. Mark’s Campanile.

6. Visit Murano
Another Vaporetto ride, head to the island of Murano and watch the glassmakers in their workshops creating beautiful glass pieces.
7. Visit the Bridge of Sighs
The Bridge of Sighs is probably one of the most popular sights in Venice I see on Pinterest and it does not disappoint. Stop on the bridge across the way for the view you’ve seen in photos and then visit the Palazzo Ducale and walk across the inside of the bridge (part of the palace prison).
