Who says winter boots can’t be functional and stylish? Whether you are headed to frosty Iceland, up to the mountains for a weekend of skiing or trekking around the city in the snow, a good pair of winter boots is essential. These are my favorite cold weather boots to pack for your next adventure.
L.L. BEAN BOOTS
Almost too famous for their own good the “bean boot” is an always popular and classic boot. Buy the leather or upgrade to the fleece-lined version.
DANNER HIKING BOOTS
If you need boots with a little more traction and grip try these Danner boots. They’re stylish but water resistant and built for hiking.
HUNTER RUBBER BOOTS
While these are technically rain boots I find in cities the slush is what you need most protection from and these are perfect for that occasion. Just add a pair of fleece sock liners for extra winter warmth.
SPERRY WINTER BOOTS
If you want something a little more casual try these Sperry boots. The quilted version is perfect for city adventuring.
If you really plan on trekking into some deep and hardcore snow these are boots are a good choice. Lined for warmth and waterproof these are the most comfortable and convenient boots of the bunch.
AND DON’T FORGET YOUR SOCKS!
If you’re going to be out and about all day exploring, regular cotton socks won’t cut it. Invest in some nice pairs of wool socks. I recommend Smartwool. Nothing is more of an adventure buzzkill than cold frozen feet.
